What are blockchain-secured documents?
A blockchain-secured document carries a permanent, tamper-proof fingerprint recorded on a blockchain, independent of any issuer's server or database.
When someone verifies the document, on TRUE Verify or any compatible tool, the fingerprint is checked against the chain in real time. If it matches, the document is genuine. No trust in the issuer required. That alone is Level II, already tamper-proof and verifiable for life.
TRUE can also add an optional eIDAS qualified digital signature on top, tying the document to a verified signer identity from an accredited EU trust service provider. Blockchain plus eIDAS together is Level I, the strongest combination of cryptographic proofs a document can carry.
Unlike database-only issuance (Level IV) or plain PDFs (Level V), a TRUE-issued document remains verifiable forever. Even if TRUE disappears tomorrow, the blockchain record exists permanently on public infrastructure.
