Why do organisations move from Certifier to TRUE?
Usually for one of two reasons: they need proof that survives the vendor, or they need EU regulatory alignment they can point a regulator at. Certifier handles event certificates and course completions well. The gap opens when the credential is a licence, a diploma or a compliance record that has to stand up years later.
Proof that depends on the vendor
Certifier's public documentation describes Open Badges 3.0 verifiable credentials. It does not document anchoring on a blockchain, so verification runs against the issuing platform. TRUE writes every document's fingerprint to a blockchain, on Ethereum, AVAX, Fantom or Polygon. The proof exists whether or not TRUE does.
Documents, not badges
Certifier is built around certificates and badges. TRUE issues full animated documents across diplomas, awards, licences, memberships, transcripts and vouchers, which is what certifying bodies and universities hand out.
EU regulatory alignment
TRUE states eIDAS compliance and is Cyber Hygiene Certified by OneMore Secure, from a Stockholm base. Certifier publishes ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and GDPR compliance on its own site and does not state eIDAS compliance. Which of those matters depends on who audits you.
How much does independent verification matter?
Enough that most employers never get to it. Published research shows qualification claims being falsified at scale while a large share of employers check nothing, and EU law is moving credentials towards wallets that expect machine checkable proof. All three figures are third party research.

A credential that carries its own cryptographic proof is checkable by a wallet, a script or a person, without a support ticket in between.
How does TRUE compare with Certifier feature by feature?

What does blockchain anchoring add over platform verification?
Independence. A platform check asks a company's servers whether a credential is real, which works until the company changes, is acquired or goes away. A chain check compares the document against a fingerprint written when it was issued, and anyone can run that comparison without permission from the issuer or the platform.
How TRUE anchors a document
Every document is hashed with SHA-256 and the hash is written to one of four blockchains. Change one character in the document and the hash no longer matches. That is a cryptographic property, not a policy, which is why it holds when AI image tools can reproduce a logo, a seal and a signature convincingly.

Why does it matter which domain a credential lives on?
Because a shared credential is a link, and the link points somewhere. When it points at your domain, every graduate who adds a diploma to LinkedIn sends traffic and authority back to you. Certifier also offers a white label portal on your own domain, so this is a shared capability rather than a difference, but it is worth confirming before you choose either.
What eIDAS compliance covers
eIDAS is the EU regulation on electronic identification and trust services. TRUE states compliance with it. Its successor, Regulation (EU) 2024/1183, adopted on 20 May 2024, requires every Member State to offer an EU Digital Identity Wallet by 2026, and the Commission names education diplomas among the documents those wallets will carry. For a university, a government body or a professional association, that is the direction of travel.

When does the verification model change the decision?
